For a food manufacturer, distribution time is a cost line. Gourmet Xchange sits within minutes of four expressways, which puts most of Singapore’s outlets, hotels and supermarkets within a short delivery run, and links the building to the air cargo terminals and the port.
Four expressways within 11 minutes
The developer gives drive times of 5 minutes to the Pan-Island Expressway, 6 to the Central Expressway, 7 to the Kallang–Paya Lebar Expressway and 11 to the East Coast Parkway. The PIE runs east–west across the island; the CTE runs north into Ang Mo Kio and south into the city; the KPE links the north-east to the ECP and MCE; and the ECP runs along the coast to Changi.

| Destination | Drive |
|---|---|
| PIE / CTE / KPE / ECP | 5 / 6 / 7 / 11 min |
| Central Business District | 10 min |
| Orchard Road | 14 min |
| Changi Airport | 18 min |
| Woodlands Checkpoint | 28 min |
| Tuas Checkpoint | 38 min |
| Tuas Mega Port | 45 min |

Built for the truck, floor by floor
The location only pays off if the building lets trucks in and out quickly. At Gourmet Xchange the ramp takes 40-footer container trucks to the first three storeys and 24-footer rigid-frame trucks to storeys 4 to 9 and the roof, on a ramp 12 to 18 metres wide. A 16-metre driveway runs the length of every production storey, each unit has its own loading lots at the door, and a 230-lot heavy vehicle park sits on the roof. Common 40-footer bays on storeys 2 and 3 and a 2,500 kg service lift serve the upper floors.
Airport, port and checkpoints
Changi Airport, for air-freighted ingredients and exports, is about 18 minutes away; Tuas Mega Port about 45; and the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints, for road freight across the Causeway and the Second Link, about 28 and 38 minutes. See the project specifications and the eastern food clusters.
Planning a delivery round
A central location shortens the longest leg of every round. From Kallang Way a rigid-frame truck can reach the city outlets via the KPE or the CTE, the eastern towns via the PIE, and the west via the PIE or the AYE beyond, then return to a loading lot at the door of its own unit. Night parking for fleets is on the roof-top heavy vehicle park. See the transport insight and the lower roof plan.
